Multistage rockets.

This is done in your notebook.  With the picture of the rocket glued into the far end of a double page spread, you are summarizing the description about why we use multistage (not single stage) rockets to launch objects into orbit and beyond.  The information is found on pages 260-263 in the text book.

Questions include

  • What is the top of the rocket not part of the rocket?

  • What does each stage of the rocket do?

  • Why are the stages jettisoned (released) at timed intervals?

  • What fuels the rocket?

  • Why is speed important?

  • Why does the rocket go straight up?

Feel free to color your rocket AFTER the information has been added.  Answering the questions scores you 80%.  Excellent layout and legibility gets you the other 20%.
